Multiple-group coordination for a robust, low-delay, fast reconfiguring wireless system

The present invention allows for a plurality of communications networks that have overlapping broadcast ranges to coordinate their communication protocols such that communication within each network, and between networks, is facilitated. Each overlapping network includes a point coordinator node operative to coordinate the message transmissions of a plurality of nodes within its communications network. Each network also includes at least one node that is operative to communicate with at least one node in an overlapping network such that communication between the networks is accomplished via the at least one node whereby the communication protocols of the networks are affected to cooperate for facilitating such communication.
