PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium handling device having a simple and compact arrangement and being capable of performing both the storage and discharge functions of recording media, facilitating the reuse of the recording media. SOLUTION: The recording medium handling device 1 comprises a slot 10 through which the recording media C are conveyed in and out; a storage part 3 capable of storing a plurality of stacked recording media; a conveying means 4 for conveying the recording media C back and forth between the storage part 3 and the slot 10; and an individual storage/feed means 40 for causing the recording media C stored in the storage part 3 to move in and out within the storage part 3 with respect to the path of conveyance of the conveying means 4 so as to store the recording media C one by one in the storage part 3 as the recording media are conveyed by the conveying means 4 and for causing the recording media C stored in the storage part 3 to be fed one by one by the conveying means 4.
