PURPOSE:To shorten the whole length of a cylinder and form the whole size of a clamping cylinder compact by disposing a composite type cylinder of insert block type. CONSTITUTION:A composite cylinder is constituted of a piston rod 3 of a main cylinder 2 and cylinder tubes 5 and 11 of an auxiliary cylinder 10, inserted into said main cylinder on a same shaft core, mounted on a base end section mounted on a movable platen 40. In the mold clamping process, a mold opening chamber 7 of a main cylinder 2 is communicated with a tank 27, and a mold closing chamber 8 of the main cylinder 2 and a mold opening chamber 12 of an auxiliary cylinder 10 are connected with a hydraulic source 26, and the mold opening chamber 12 of the auxiliary cylinder 10 is opened to the tank just before the end of proceeding of a mold closing cylinder piston 4. In the mold opening process, the switchover is carried out respectively so that a mold opening chamber 7 of the main cylinder 2 is connected with the hydraulic source 26, and that the mold closing chamber 8 of the main cylinder 2 and the mold opening chamber 12 of the auxiliary cylinder 10 are communicated with the tank 27. |
