TOROIDAL TYPE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION, ROLLING MEMBER FOR THE SAME, AND PROCESSING METHOD OF ROLLING MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method of a rolling member capable of providing the toroidal type continuously variable transmission of long service life. SOLUTION: This processing method comprises a plastic forming process for plastically forming a rolling part of the rolling member by actually operating the whole gear change range by not less than one time by changing an inclination angle of a gear change roller while applying the pressing load corresponding to the processing stress of more than 1.1 times of the elastic limit hertz stress and not more than shake-down limit of a metallic material composing the rolling part of the rolling member between the input disc and the output disc holding the gear change roller, in a state that input discs 11, 12, output discs 21, 22 and gear change rollers 31, 32 are assembled. Whereby the rolling part of the rolling member increases its resistance to deformation by being hardened in processing and is imparted with compression residual stress, and its fatigue strength increases.
