PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner giving good image quality and excellent in durability and anti-offset properties. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner in which an aqueous dispersion (I) of fine resin particles (P1) containing a polyester resin (p1) having a softening point of 70-130°C is mixed with an aqueous dispersion (II) of fine resin particles (P2) containing an acrylic resin (p2) having a softening point of 120-190°C and having a smaller average particle diameter than the particles (P1), whereby the particles (P1) and the particles (P2) are associated to form shell layers obtained by association of the particles (P2) on the surfaces of the particles (P1) as core particles, the softening point of the acrylic resin (p2) is higher than that of the polyester resin (p1) and part or all of the fine resin particles (P1) and/or the fine resin particles (P2) are colored fine resin particles.
