PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a square steel tube on one side with a steel frame member on the other side so as to cross them orthogonally and mutually to obtain high connection strength with satisfactory workability by a comparatively simple configuration. SOLUTION: This connection mechanism is composed of square steel tubes 2, 3 and an L-shaped fitting 7 arranged in their connection part. Screw positioning hole parts 15, 16, 17, 18 restraining moving of a screw part 14 of a bolt 8 to be inserted in the radial direction and screw movable hole parts 19, 20 releasing restraint of screws are integrally provided as screw mounting holes 10, 12 on side faces 11, 13 of the square steel tubes 2, 3. Long holes 21, 22, 23, 24 are formed in each flat plate part 5, 6 of the L-shaped fitting 7. These long holes regulate moving of the screw part 14 of the bolt 8 to be inserted in the radial direction between the screw movable hole parts and the screw positioning hole parts. A nut 9 is screw-fitted in a screw part of a bolt positioned in the screw positioning hole part, thereby connecting the square steel tubes 2, 3 so as to cross orthogonally and mutually.
