PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and inexpensively provide hollow fiber membrane that causes minimized occurrence of eluate in the blood treatment or the like by suppressing the decomposition of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) on drying, when a membrane having poor heat resistance and poor oxidation resistance, particularly polysulfone membrane including PVP that is a hydrophilic macromolecule is dried. SOLUTION: In the production of hollow fiber membrane comprising a hydrophilic polymer and a hydrophobic polymer, it has been found the thermal decomposition and the oxidative decomposition of a hydrophilic polymer, particularly PVP can be suppressed by using a gas of which oxygen content is≤10 vol.% as a carrier gas.
