摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard composite sintered compact which has excellent strength and toughness in addition to wear resistance, and to provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: By volume, 50 to 95 vol.% first hard phases 2 consisting of tungsten carbide, titanium nitride or titanium carbonitride, 5 to 50 vol.% diamond particles 3, 0 to 15 vol.% second hard phases 4 composed of at least one kind selected from the group consisting of the carbide, nitride and carbonitride of the group 4a, 5a and 6a metals in the Periodic Table other than the first hard phases 2 are bonded with bonding phases 5 consisting of iron group metal. Then, the outer circumferential face of a long-length core material 7 consisting of a hard sintered compact 6 in which the content of free carbon prescribed by the porosity of an alloy in ISO4505 is C02 or lower is coated with a surface skin material 8 consisting of a hard sintered compact having a composition different from that of the core material 7 to produce the hard composite sintered compact 1.
