PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass resin composition freely controllable of its melting point and excellent in physical characteristics, such as fluidity, processability, water resistance, and impact resistance, and to provide a method for producing the composition, capable of simply producing the composition. SOLUTION: This biomass resin composition contains a phenolated biomass substance and a reactive substance having a melting point of≤100°C other than a phenol. The composition is produced by adding the reactive substance, such as a phenol derivative or a drying oil, to a reaction system of a process in which the phenolated biomass substance is produced by subjecting a biomass substance to phenolation reaction with phenols in the presence of an acid catalyst.
