The awning for camping vehicles has a floor (3) upon which rest rods (4). The floor of the awning is mounted to move on an underbase (1) so that the awning is movable between a manoeuvring position and permanent standing position. A number of rolling bodies (2) in the form of cylindrical rods or tubes are installed between the floor and the underbase. The underbase is formed by a number of parallel and spaced apart beams, and the rolling bodies are installed at right angles to the beams.
