A data reproduction device includes a plurality of calculation means each having branch-metric calculation means, a plurality of path-metric calculation means, a plurality of path-metric memories, a plurality of reliability calculation means for calculating reliability of the path, and correction path creation means for creating a reversed path of a path when the output of the reliability calculation means indicates that the path has a low reliability. When any of the correction path creation means of each of the calculation means creates a reversed path, corresponding path-metric calculation means stores the path-metric value corresponding to the reversed path as a path-metric value to be used for calculation of the next path-metric value in the corresponding path-metric memory.
