<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which consecutively carries out variable magnification pixel conversion without image deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a pixel converter (1)5 for reading image information stored in a signal processing memory 4 to convert the number of pixels into that at which no image quality deterioration is caused with respect to a format recorded on a recording medium 11; and CPUs (1)16, (2)18 which magnify or reduce information within a range of the number of pixels of a photoelectric conversion section in a CCD or a Cmos which is sufficiently large with respect to the number of pixels related to recording of the information when converted pixel information after the pixel conversion by the pixel converter (1)5 is recorded to the recording medium 11, and which also control the magnification or reduction operation of a lens. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
