<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a media converter which can detect power source off state of the media converter of a user house side, without making the circuit configuration complicated. <P>SOLUTION: The medial converter includes a regulator for stabilizing the power source voltage and supplying to each circuit block, and a maintenance signal generating/informing means for generating a maintenance signal, based on information to be output from a monitoring means for monitoring a channel quality, device fault, a power source state, etc. and informing the generated maintenance signal to a third party destination via an optical fiber. The media converter includes a voltage detecting means for detecting an input voltage drop to a power source off by monitoring the input voltage of the regulator, and a power source off alarm signal generating means for generating a frame for informing the detected result to the third party destination, when the voltage drop to the power source off is detected by the voltage detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
