PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To magnify and display a part of a desired partial image on a small screen display without a complicated operation by a user. SOLUTION: The method for displaying a partial image comprises the steps of inputting image information and sub-information for relating to a partial image displayed on a small screen monitor 117 from a receiving part 102, a disk replaying part 104, and a memory data reading part 106; of extracting and setting the partial image on the basis of the sub-information with an emphasis-area-data extracting part 111 and an emphasis-area-seting part 112, and of magnifying and displaying the partial image on the small screen monitor 117 with a partial magnify processing part 115.
