PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wireless LAN usable automatically and independently of a difference of countries and regions in the frequency of an electric wave of the wireless LAN approved by a radio law is different in the countries and the wireless LAN units should be prepared for every country where it will be used. SOLUTION: The country where one is present is specified and country information is created. A frequency, that the wireless LAN device uses is set from the country information and a database of frequency information. In a specifying method, the country is specified by using a GPS device and a map database or by a country code of a DNS sever name and a country code database. If the country cannot be specified, a beacon of a wireless LAN counter device is received so that the same frequency of the beacon is set to be used.
