PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a case body in a shape which is common to all types of vehicles for an onboard antenna unit buried in a hole part formed at a predetermined position of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The onboard antenna unit 1 is equipped with a case comprising the body case 5 and a cover member 7, and a transmission/reception device 6 is incorporated in it. The body case 5 comprises a main body part 5c and a circular upper-end part 5a on which a couple of engagement parts 5b are provided. The cover member 7 comprises an upper part 7a in a half-dome shape and an annular lower part 7b which is engaged with the engagement part 5b on the upper end part 5a of the body case 5, thereby fixing the cover member 7 to the body case 5. The onboard antenna unit 1 is arranged in the hole part 19 formed on an instrument panel 50 and fitted so that only the upper part 7a of the cover member 7 is exposed on the top surface of the instrument panel 50.
