PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dome type camera whereby a photographing direction of the camera is easily aligned to the notch of an internal cover. SOLUTION: A chassis 13 includes a detection mark 15 and a detection section 19 for particularizing the direction of camera and a first engagement receiving section 21 engaged with a cover unit 5. The cover unit 5 includes: a cover base 23 having a first engagement section 41 engaged with the first engagement receiving section 21 of the chassis 13; an opaque internal cover section 27 fitted to the cover base 23 and including a notch part 37; an adjustment mark 47 and an adjustment section 39 for adjusting the direction of the notch part 37; and a transparent external cover part 25 fitted to the cover base 23 and covering the camera and the internal cover section 27. When the first engagement receiving section 21 is engaged with the first engagement section 41, the dome type camera is formed so that the camera direction is substantially coincident with the direction of the notch part.
