PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical inhibiting the function of staphylothrombin. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical, having the activity of inhibiting staphylothrombin, comprises as active ingredient a substance selected from the group consisting of an argininamide of the formula(I)[ wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a (2R,4R)-4-alkyl-2-carboxypiperidino group or the like; and R<SP>2</SP>is phenyl or a condensed polycyclic compound residue, wherein R<SP>2</SP>optionally has one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl, lower alkoxy and lower alkyl-substituted amino ], a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, their hydrates and their solvates. This pharmaceutical, because of having the activity of inhibiting staphylothrombin, can be used for treating and/or preventing Staphyrococcus aureus-related infectious diseases.
