PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transportation method for a metal can with an opening groove, which prevents the opening of the metal can due to development of a crack on the opening groove formed on the top board or on the bottom board of the metal can during a transportation after filling the metal can with a content. SOLUTION: The metal can with the opening groove formed on a part of either the upper lid or lower lid is transported in a sealed state with the content filling it. In transporting the can, when the absolute value of the inner pressure beneath the upper face of the can is a prescribed value or lower, the lid with the opening groove is made to be at the underside. On the other hand, when the head pressure of the content is at a prescribed value, the inner pressure beneath the upper face of the can is negative, and the ratio of the absolute value of the inner pressure to the head pressure of the content is a prescribed one or larger, the lid with the opening groove is made to turn upside.
