PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a body from an unexpected impact accident such as falling from a high place, and falling down or collision of an motorcycle, an automobile, or the like, by promptly hardening a life jacket without misoperation. SOLUTION: The protecting device is structured to be in a standby state capable of detecting a situation just before the occurrence of the unexpected accident by a physiological sensor 7 of myoelectricity, a breathing pattern, a pupil, and the like. In this state, when a physical sensor 9 of acceleration and the like exceeds a threshold value, the protecting device determines the unexpected accident is occurred, actuates a solenoid to release a compressed gas cylinder 5, and expands and hardens the life jacket 2 to protect the body.
