PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broaching method and a broaching member which accurately broaches with less diameter error and dimension error in an inlet, an outlet and a central part of a part to be machined by internal broaching, made of a highly hard material having hardness of 45-65 HRC. SOLUTION: One end or both ends 14 and 15 of the part 13 to be machined of a hole 11 of the highly hard machining member 10 are provided with clearance parts 16 and 17, and a large diameter groove 13 as the part to be machined of the hole is cut by an inside diameter finishing broaching tool 1 without making a contact with the clearance parts formed in one side or both the ends. Length L2 of the clearance part is set to satisfy the relation L2≥0.05 x L1 in relation to the cutting length L1 of the part to be machined. With this broaching method, the broaching member 10 having the cut parts 13 in a surface of the part to be machined, to which quenching is performed, and the clearance part in both ends of the part to be machined without having a cut part by broaching, is obtained.
