PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a fault processing system by selecting and setting a fault processing method accordant with a system operating form at formation of the system and therefore attaining the fault processing in accordance with the form of the system to be operated. CONSTITUTION:A file device FD31 of a service processor SVP3 includes the fault process setting information 32 which is set at a register 22 of an input/ output processor IOP2. The information 32 instructs a fault processing method to the IOP2 and is set at formation of a system so that the fault processing is suited to the system. Then the information 32 is loaded to the register 22 for each power ON state. Then a bit corresponding to the relevant channel of the register 22 is referred to when a channel fixed fault of the IOP2 is detected. Then the channel is blocked up with a bit set at 0; while the entire system process is stopped with a bit set at 1. Thus it is possible to perform the fault process in accordance with the system operating form and to improve the system reliability. |
