An educational toy which test dexterity comprises a rectangular wooden frame (12) open on two opposite sides and holding a horizontal plate (20) tilt mounted about a central middle axis (24) with the pivot bar located each end in support blocks (16). The tilt plate is mounted inside the outline of the frame with the pivot blocks extending out of the frame to increase the surface area of the toy, for improved stability. Wooden dowel pegs (40, 42) are set in vertical bores (44, 46) in the frame to sit at each end of the tilt plate. Striking one peg causes the plate to tilt and eject the other peg, which the operator has to catch before replacing in the bore to eject the other peg. The toy is made of indigenous woods with the pegs made of hardwood and with the striking surfaces felt coated.
