PURPOSE:To certainly confirm the position of the leading end of an electrode and the excision depth of a lesion region by the electrode in performing treatment by the excision of the lesion part of the prostate by a rejectoscope by providing an ultrasonic element for detecting the position of the leading end of the electrode to a part within the stroke range of the leading end of said electrode. CONSTITUTION:A sheath 1 is inserted in the part of the prostate in the body cavity through the urethra and a slider 8 is operated to allow the leading end loop part 9 of an electrode 6 to protrude from the leading end of the sheath 1 and the leading end loop part 9 is pressed to a lesion region and a high frequency current is allowed to flow to the electrode 6 to cauterize and excise the lesion region. At this time, when the ultrasonic element 17 provided to the leading end loop part 9 is operated, the reflected wave of the ultrasonic pulse transmitted from the ultrasonic element 17 is received by said ultrasonic element and the position of the leading end loop part 9 of the electrode 6 in the body cavity or the state of the living body region in the periphery of said loop part 9 is displayed on a monitor. Therefore, the excision depth of the lesion region of the prostate by the leading end loop part 9 of the electrode 6 can be detected and the treatment of the lesion part can be safely and certainly performed. |
