PURPOSE:To obtain a material for a brush contact having superior wear resistance and generating little noise by adding restricted amounts of Mn and other specified element to an Au-Pt-Pd-Ag-Cu-Zn material for a brush contact as a base material. CONSTITUTION:An alloy material consisting of, by weight, 9-11% Au, 9-11% Pt, 34-36% Pd, 29-31% Ag, 13-15% Cu and 0.5-1.5% Zn is used as a base material. A material for a brush contact is obtd. by adding 1-10wt% Mn and 0.5-3wt% one or more among Bi, Ge and Si to the base material without changing the ratio in the composition. To the base material may be further added 0.01-0.5wt% Fe group metal. |
