<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphase motor driving unit which can control the rotation of a polyphase motor also when discharging a capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: Each transistor in an inverter circuit 4 is driven so that the rotational speed of a rotating current field generated by a current supplied via the inverter circuit 4 from a capacitor 5 to each phase of the winding of the motor 7 when a power supply switch 11 connected in series to a battery is switched off is, for example, five times the rated rotational speed of the motor 7 or over. Since the rotational speed of the rotating current field generated in the motor 7 is extremely higher than the rated rotational speed, the rotor of the motor 7 scarcely rotates and it can discharge the charge accumulated in the capacitor 5 via the winding of the motor 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
