PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erroneous selection of a channel under a watch in a channel selection device selecting a desired channel specified by two or more key operations. SOLUTION: A television receiver 10 switched to the desired channel by two or more key operations displays a channel number selected at the present stage on the screen of a cathode-ray tube 26 upon inputting some digit numbers of the desired channel number by the key operation in a remote transmitter 12. In this way, the desired channel number is inputted while the present channel number is being confirmed. Thus, the erroneous selection of the present channel is prevented.
