PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a problem that a processing speed of processing with high priority is deteriorated due to competition in a large capacity storage when other data are received during data output processing in an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus for performing output processing while temporarily storing received image data in a large capacity storage such as an HDD is provided in a following means. The apparatus is provided with a means for predicting a time required for storing the received image data into the large capacity storage, a means for predicting a time until the presently performed processing accesses the large capacity storage, a means for adding information indicating the priority of data processing to the image data and an internal data management section, a means for determining whether the received data are processing accompanied by output processing, and a means for transmitting data required to interrupt data transmission and to transmit the data to an external apparatus connected by a network etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
