摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detector of spatial information which detects the spatial information at a higher signal-to-noise ratio by discarding a residual charge not used as a signal charge among charges generated at a sensitization portion. SOLUTION: A light-emitting source 2 radiates to space light modulated in intensity by a modulated signal of a predetermined modulation frequency. The sensitization portion 11 provided at an image sensor 1 receives the light modulated in intensity and generates a charge of a quantity corresponding to the intensity of the light received. In a state where a control voltage is applied to a control electrode 12a and the charge is movable to a charge storage portion 12 from the sensitization portion 11, only required charge of the charges generated at the sensitization portion 11 is moved to the charge storage portion 12 by discarding the charge through application of a discarded voltage to a discarded electrode 14a at timing that synchronizes with a cycle of the modulated signal. A signal charge stored in the charge storage portion 12 is delivered to an evaluating portion 5 through a charge takeoff portion 13, and a distance to an object Ob is obtained at the evaluating portion 5.
