摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new p type thermoelectric transformation materials configured of elements whose toxicity is small, and whose abundance is large with excellent thermal resistance and chemical durability and high thermoelectric transformation efficiency. SOLUTION: This composite oxide is provided with composition expressed with a general formula; (Ca<SB>1-m</SB>A<SB>m</SB>)×(Co<SB>1-n</SB>M<SB>n</SB>)<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>, and provided with a thermoelectromotive force which is 100μV/K or more in 600°C. In the formula, A is at least one kind of element selected from a group configured of Sr, Ba Na, Bi, Pb and La, and M is at least one kind of element selected from a group constituted of Mn, Fe, Ni and Cu, and 2.5≤x≤3.5, 1.5≤y≤2.5; 5≤z≤7 and 0≤m≤1, and 0≤n≤1.
