PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly start an electronic device even when starting data are stored in a nonvolatile memory. SOLUTION: For the purpose of executing a starting process for starting a digital broadcast receiver, when reading first partial starting data BD1, second partial starting data BD2, third partial starting data BD3 and fourth partial starting data BD4 to a RAM 3 from the nonvolatile memory 4, first partial starting data BD1b, second partial starting data BD2a, third partial starting data BD3a and fourth partial starting data BD4a stored in a storage area ZN2, a storage area ZN5, a storage area ZN9 and a storage area ZN13 having no defect are read to the RAM 3.
