PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silanol group-containing compound capable of maintaining a stable state without progressing the condensation reaction of the compounds containing the silanol group with each other by more than a definite amount even preserving it for a long period in a state of an aqueous solution, and a method for producing the compound containing silanol group, capable of hydrolyzing a compound obtained by a neutralizing reaction completely, without making an aqueous solution of the compound obtained by the neutralizing reaction as acidic. SOLUTION: This silanol group-containing compound is expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R1is CR3(CH2OH)2or C6H4OH; R2is a 1-8C alkyl or a 6-12C aromatic group; R3is a 1-8C alkyl; (p) is an integer of 1-6; (m) is a value within 0
