The measurement system has a transmitter , e.g. pressure, temperature, coupled to a terminal over a two wire connection. The exchange takes place in a sequential process with an initializing step [10] followed by a request transmission [11]. A monitoring function [12] is performed and a communication process [16] accesses the measurement data [19].
