COLORING METHOD FOR GLASS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass coloring method whereby glass is colored by the irradiation with a laser beam without causing cracks in a colored part colored by the irradiation and without causing the colored part to fall away. SOLUTION: The glass coloring method is characterized as follows: a glass surface containing silver ions is covered with a dielectric film and then irradiated with a laser beam; thus, the silver ions agglomerate to form silver particles, which color the glass surface. In the coloring method, the glass surface is dipped in a molten silver salt formed by thermally melting a silver salt; the resultant glass surface containing silver ions is covered with a dielectric film and then irradiated with a laser beam to cause silver ions to agglomerate to form silver particles for coloring the surface.
