PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide highly reliable head and recorder by suppressing a warp resulting from a fact that the vicinity of a supporting member is heated by heat generated from a recording element substrate during print operation to cause a temperature difference between the recording element substrate side and the opposite side and thereby the recording element substrate side of the supporting member expands but the opposite side elongates only a little. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a recording element substrate arranged with a plurality of recording elements for ejecting recording liquid and provided with ink supply openings for supplying ink from the rear surface, a passage for supplying ink to the recording element substrate, and a supporting member for holding and securing the recording element substrate wherein a member exhibiting better thermal conduction than the supporting member is provided along the direction of nozzle array of the supporting member at least on the opposite side faces perpendicular to the recording element substrate.
