<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the prolongment of the service lifetime of an ultrasonic motor by enabling heat at the contact part of the finger of the ultrasonic motor with a traveling plate to be efficiently radiated without suppressing a duty ratio. <P>SOLUTION: The positioning device 20 is provided with a movable body 25 which is driven by transmitting vibrations of the ultrasonic motor 7 to the traveling plate 26 via the finger 8. The traveling plate 26 is provided with a plate body 27 and a hard layer 28 arranged on the surface of the side with which the finger 8 of the plate body 27 is made into contact.
