<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post branching optical joint box whose width size is made compact and in which excessive length of passage core wires can be loosely housed and workability of housing work of the excessive length of the passage core wires is improved. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical joint box main body 22 in which already installed optical cables 11 to which processing for branching are performed are fixed, a passing core wire housing tray 26 for housing the excessive length of passing core wires 11c of optical fibers taken out from the cables 11 and an optical joint part housing tray 27 for housing optical join parts and the excessive length of the optical fibers 11d which are branched from the optical cables are arranged in a stacked layer state.
