PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bicycle shift control unit having a rotatable shift member with an ergonomic shape. SOLUTION: A fixed member 22 is fixedly coupled to a part of a handlebar 14 adjacent a hand gripping area A having a center longitudinal axis. A rotatable member 60 is rotatably coupled to the fixed member 22. The rotatable member 60 has an inner axial end 78, an outer axial end 80, and a tubular outer actuating surface 82 extending between the inner and outer axial ends 78, 80. The tubular outer actuating surface 82 is configured to define a tubular hand grip. The tubular hand grip has a finger operating projection 88 extending outwardly from the tubular hand grip.
