PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas compressor suitable for reducing the power loss, enhancing the abrasion resistance, and enhancing the equipment performance by reducing internal leakage. SOLUTION: The spring force of a spring member 16 when an armature 15 of an electromagnetic clutch 14 is attracted to a pulley 18 side is applied to a rotor 8 as the rotor thrust load to press the rotor 8 against a rear side block 6 side. When the oil pressure in a rear back pressure space 37 is applied to the rotor 8 as the rotor thrust load to press the rotor 8 against a front side block 5 side, an end face of the rotor 8 and an inner surface of the front side block 5 facing the end face repel each other by the magnetic forces thereof. The rotor thrust load to press the rotor 8 against the rear side block 6 side is balanced by the rotor thrust load to press the rotor 8 against the front side block 5 side by the repelling magnetic forces, and the rotor 8 is held at a neutral position.
