PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a haptic force feedback input device with a notifying sound generating function, which can reduce power consumption and is suitable for downsizing. SOLUTION: The haptic force feedback input device has an operation lever 4, which is manually operated by an operator, a holding member 2 which holds the operation lever 4 so as to be rockable, an electromagnetic brake 5 which faces the end of the operation lever 4, an optical image sensor 6 to detect operation states of the operation lever 4, and a control means 7 which controls operation of the electromagnetic brake 5 based on an output signal (a) from the optical image sensor 6. The haptic force feedback input device is structured so that the notifying sound is generated by applying a continuous pulse signal to an electromagnetic coil 13 corresponding to a specified operation of the operation lever 4 and allowing a york 12 to periodically attract an armature 10.
