PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image verification method and an image verification device which can perform fingerprint verification with high accuracy even when a fingerprint sensor is reduced in size. SOLUTION: The device consists of a fingerprint sensor part 11 for generating fingerprint data d_fp by imaging a fingerprint fp of an object targeted for imaging h, a matching detection part 173 for detecting a magnitude of matching for a plurality of fingerprint data d_fp based on the plural fingerprint data d_fp captured by imaging the fingerprint fp of the object targeted for the imaging with the fingerprint sensor part 11 at a plurality of different positions, a memory 14 for storing the plural fingerprint data d_fp with being associated as the fingerprint data for registration d_fpr for the object targeted for the imaging in accordance with the magnitude of the matching detected by the matching detection part 173, and a verification part 174 for performing verification processing based on at least one image data for the verification d_fp and the plurality of fingerprint data stored by the memory 14 with being associated.
