<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording and reproducing device of a simple configuration capable of accurately recording and reproducing information by improving accuracy of positioning a signal light and a reference beam to an optical information recording medium and accuracy of positioning a reference beam and a reproduction light. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical information recording and reproducing device for recording information by applying an interference phenomenon of light, the reference beam 23b and the signal light 23d are irradiated from opposing directions with the optical information recording medium 8 in between, with a common optical axis. The reference beam 23c that has passed through the optical information recording medium 8 is modulated by a digital micromirror device (a spatial light modulator) 32, and a laser beam created by reflecting the modulated beam is used as the signal light 23d. This arrangement makes the optical axis of the reference beam 23b and the signal light 23d common, which eliminates the need to carry out positioning of the reference beam 23b and the signal light 23d mechanically, and gives the benefit of the optical system being simplified. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
