PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure gas compressor capable of preventing degradation of the secular seal performance and prolonging the change timing. SOLUTION: In a high-pressure gas compressor to compress gas by reciprocating a piston 20 in a cylinder 37, the piston has head side piston ring units 26 and 27 and a crankshaft side piston ring unit 24 from a cylinder head side. The head side piston ring units have a synthetic resin-made annular piston ring 35. In the crankshaft side piston ring unit, a cylinder head side end face forms a pressure-bearing surface, and the crankshaft side piston ring unit has a synthetic resin-made cylindrical piston ring 33 with the crankshaft side end part expanded like a skirt.
