PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cartridge in which the deformation of a spring member for holding a leader member is prevented. SOLUTION: This tape cartridge houses rotatably a reel hub part on which a tape type recording medium is wound in a case and is provided with a leader member constituted cylindrically as a whole to fix a tip of the tape type recording medium, the leader member is pulled out through an opening 73 of a case 1 at the time of use, while it is pulled in at the time of finish of use, and an end part 81d of the leader member is held by a spring member 74 at a prescribed position 70 in the case, positioned and set, the spring member 74 is bent at a plurality of places in a part in which the spring member 74 is extended straightly from a straight line part to the tip part abutted to the end part of the leader member so that the tip part is moved to a direction (a) in which the end part releases holding of the end part when the leader member is pulled in torward the prescribed position and the end part 81d is abutted to a tip part 74a of the spring member.
