PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a first light emitting layer and a second light emitting layer to emit light without the difference in luminance in multilayer electroluminescence EL. SOLUTION: The EL element comprises a first laminate F which is formed by sequentially laminating a first transparent electrode 1, a first light emitting layer 2 and a first insulating layer 3; a second laminate S which is formed by sequentially laminating a second transparent electrode 4, a second light emitting layer 5 and a second insulating layer 6 on the first insulating layer 3 of the first laminate F; and further a back surface electrode 7 on the second insulating layer 6 of the second laminate S. In comparison with emitters 2a in the first light emitting layer 2, the average particle diameter of emitters 5a in the second light emitting layer 5 is small. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
