PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus capable of shortening the processing time by previously excluding specified color toner from objects to be corrected, and capable of very effectively preventing toner-scattering by changing the degree of correction of non-background pixels to be corrected in accordance with the positional relation of the pixels with a background image. SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus with a correcting function of forming an image free from toner-scattering is mainly characterised by being provided with: a correction excluding means for previously excluding the specified color toner from the objects to be corrected; a boundary detecting means for detecting the boundary between a background pixel and the non-background pixel; an object pixel detecting means for detecting how far the non-background pixel to be corrected is separated by the pixel unit by counting from the non-background pixel abutting on the boundary; and a correcting means for correcting the non-background pixel in accordance with the detection result of the object pixel detecting means.
