PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the temperature fluctuation of transmission loss, to facilite an intermediate post branching and to suppress the fluctuation in loss during working in an optical cable in which tension members are arranged in an outer cover member . SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 is composed of the cylindrical outer cover member 3, a plurality of the tension members 6 arranged longitudinally in a way as to be embedded into the outer cover member 3, members 11 for delineation which delineate the cylindrical inside of the outer cover member 3 to a plurality of compartments, and optical fibers 13 which are housed within the plurality of the respective compartments. Since the cylindrical inside of the outer cover member 3 is delineated to the plurality of the two or more compartments by the members 11 for delineation, the optical fibers 13 can be easily taken out without the entanglement of the optical fibers 13 with each other.
