PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soldering iron which is manufactured without any troublesome works, and capable of preventing oxidation of an iron tip even when the iron tip temperature is set to be high. SOLUTION: The soldering iron comprises a heater cartridge 2 having a soldering tip 10 on a tip part and having electric connection terminals 16a and 16b on a base end part, a holding handle 4 which is externally fitted to the heater cartridge 2, a handle base 5 to perform energization to the heater cartridge 2 while the base end part of the heater cartridge 2 is inserted while being integrated with the holding handle 4, and a gas injection unit 6 which is fixed to a tip part of the handle base 5 and injects inert gas to the heater cartridge 2.
