<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize practical print between an arbitrary client and a printer connected to a network. <P>SOLUTION: A mediation system 1 for mediating print is constructed by installing a server connected to the network. A client transmits print data and an identification number for identifying a printer of an output destination to the mediation system 1. The mediation system identifies the printer from the identification number on the network to confirm its operation status. The mediation system outputs print data by using a driver corresponding to the model of the printer and by converting them into data for the printer. By interlaying the mediation system 1, printing can be freely carried out by an arbitrary printer on the network while avoiding unauthorized access to the printer connected to the network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
