<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of outputting commodity information whereby various commodity information corresponding to each commodity can be printed on various kinds of papers in various formats and the commodity information in an amount necessary for a consumer visiting a retail store can be efficiently output by correlating the commodity information to each commodity without using a dedicated printer. <P>SOLUTION: When an operator operates to read a barcode by using a barcode reader 11 connected to a printer 10, the printer 10 acquires commodity printing information corresponding to the read barcode 5 from a host computer 20 via a telecommunication line to store it to a memory 14. When there are a plurality of pieces of commodity printing information corresponding to one commodity, the fact is indicated on a display section 16.
